Blocks

Full Page Blocks

These are loaded with a blank template file to give a full page view.

Some of these can be found in the pattern directory otherwise, they can be found on the theme docs.

Talk block

A custom block (built into the theme) to display a talk with details and format links to the talk and slides and video. If the buttons are not given proper urls, they will be left off the block when rendered. The image can be added or left as is with the dashicon in place. View more in action on the speaking page.

Talk Label

Talk Title

Description of the talk with a lot of words so that the layout takes the full width and the image doesn’t take over the space. I guess that’s a bug I should solve – once I get the block to show up at all.

Job Experience Block

These are custom blocks as a variation on columns block with some preset values and layout. There are also some custom styles in place.

The Company

Remote

2019 – 2022

The Official Job Title

Some relevant description of the position.

The Last Company

The town it was in.

2009 – 2019

The Job Title

I worked there for 10 years and I still don’t know what I did.

Skills Block

A custom block in the theme that lists skills and stars. This could be useful if you want a visual on a resume for example.

  • WordPress β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…
  • Javascript β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…
  • PHP β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†

Social Block as Template Part

This is included as a template part. The template part includes only a social links block with a slew of social links added. Note that it is also included in the site footer as a template part.

Code Block

Here’s an example of template part block markup. Add this to a template to add a template part. This is written with the core code block, the best way to share code samples on your site.

<!-- wp:template-part {"slug":"social","theme":"evans-block-theme"} /-->
